What is a Renewable Energy Credit? A Renewable Energy Credit or REC is earned each time a solar/photovoltaic system creates 1000 kilowatt hours of electricity.
The REC is also known as an Alternative Energy Credit (AEC), a Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) or a Green Tag. The REC represents the positive environmental benefits of the creation of renewable energy. It is separate from the actual electricity itself.
Unlike a broker, that purchases your RECs at the lowest possible price, we charge a nominal fee of 10% of the price at which your REC was sold. Therefore, we work hard to get you the best possible price for your REC’s.
